This was really a surprise find. I was led here by the multiple good reviews and came in not expecting anything. Since it was located in the Mount Austin area, I was ready to jettison to the other restaurants in the area if the food was not good.
We ordered a garoupa fish meat steamboat, hokkien mee, bee tai mak, salted egg bitter gourd and yong tau foo. The menu was limited by comparison to what you find in other restaurants but the dishes were all executed well. For example, the fish were seared before being placed into the soup to bring out its umami goodness. The taste further enhanced by the 当归. For those who are familiar with Singapore’s 新源记 at Tan Quee Lan street, the soup broth would be a familiar one. However, we find the broth here thicker and more flavourful with less MSG. The fish is definitely fresher and one notch better in quality.
I would definitely return again for lunch but hope that the owner would consider adding more seafood dishes for the dinner crowd.

Excellent Chinese food - their star dish, the fried black hokkien mee is my favorite. Portions are large and they cook quite quickly. The “wok hei” is good too. The dry gravy is also done just right.

The restaurant itself is very clean and has good ventilation. There is no air conditioning.

We were in the vicinity of Austin Hills and was looking for a dinner place. This place epitomize old school Zi Char (stir fry). The KL style black sauce hokkien noodles reminisces of old street flavors full of wok hei. The sweet and sour pork was equally awesome. Overall it was a great dinner experience definitely worthy of a repeat visit soon.

We ate here for the past 2 evenings. We ordered the Black Malaysian style(KL) Hokkien Mee & prawn omelette. Hokkien mee was deliciously rich, savoury & very satisfying. On our 2nd trip here we had the claypot mee tai mak; which was flavourful, comforting & cooked just right. Both our visits were pleasant
